what if we started off with just log cabins and no electricity Then you'd probably be looking at maybe 2 million, provided we have no starting inventory. Also, all of it depends on how good we need our farm yields to be. With tractors and other machines (don't know too much about farming) the yields go up enormously but so do the costs (hence why farmers in poor countries don't have them), plus we'd need to transport these things. If we don't have those, we can make everything a lot cheaper but we'd need a lot more land and labour to sustain ourselves in the most basic way. If we were really stripped for cash we could take one of the from new orleans at minimal cost we would have bring our own food,fresh water and supplies though |

As I mentioned, electricity should be dirt cheap, roughly $1 per watt should we go solar. I can't see pic related costing us millions also.  |

And those houses might be made from shit but the materials still have to be bought and transported. If we do everything with absolutely no help, sure it'd be cheap, but personally I'm not planning on digging out a flat area to put a hovel on with a fucking shovel. |
