Farming, fishing and logging equipment. For a start. Construction tools. I'll probably come back with more.

Are we really gonna need them if there is no meat? That is a very fair point. As someone else said, we could raise turkeys for protein. Rather than a vegetarian diet.

Sleeping bag Cast iron pan/pot Propane Iodine tablets Mirror Shovel Tarps. Lots and lots of tarps Sat. Phone with dedicated solar charger Heavy coat and/or heavy duty rain jacket Rope
Chickens are a must as a protein source, as well as their feathers can be used for fishing lures, bones for mulch, and chicken shit for compost

A way that we could deal with the low amount of protein from meat is to breed crickets/beetles or other insects that are high in protein. I had three tarantulas three years ago when I lived in Alaska and bred crickets so I didn't have to buy over priced food for them. It is not hard to breed them, contain them, and cook them. I know most Americans think bugs are scum and disgusting, yes roaches are vermin but crickets are delicious. I found a website that gives many facts as to why eat/produce crickets. This company breeds them for human consumption and also has the different stats of breeding crickets vs cattlehttp://bigcricketfarms.com/faq.html, and another website showing different recipes for crickets www.insectsarefood.com/recipes.html. If people are not squeamish of insects I could buy some and start breeding them again except I would breed each generation in a slightly higher salt content spray for each generation to get them used to island type environment.

I'm not living on the opposite side of the world to feed off insects. There are plenty of options available, forget that one.
