This is a thread where people can tell us about their (usefull) skills for the colony.
I'll start:
- Can make alcohol like wine and moonshine.
- I have some farming experience.
- Greenhouse experience in growing vegetables and weed (have greenhouse at home).

I have approximately zero skills as of now, but seeing it will be years before this is realized I will be able to finish my education before departure to the /pol/ony I am however able bodied and motivated |

Currently in college for Electronics and Renewable Energy. Plan is to double major in Software to get into robotics. I have access to my college's shop and 3D Printer to develop new, or experimental technology

Good to see we finally have a site, i am a biologist,specialized in microbiology.
I am experienced with fungiculture, and am capable of producing biofuels, fertilizers and with a proper laboratory i can produce any organic molecule using genetic engineering.
I also enjoy farming, and am intrigued by the possibility of using the seas to expand the global agriculturable area of our planet using plataforms, as was suggested in the original thread.

Have expertise in:
Ironworking. Come from a long tradition of Ironworking. 4th generation. Love it. So, I can weld, fabricate steel, and erect steel. Anything with steel I got it.
Farming- Spent many summers on a family farm. Understand the basics, know more about animal husbandry than actual farming.
Mechanics - I have done a lot of wrenching on various vehicles.
Business owner - Although I am an Ironworker at heart, I have led a Steel Erection company for the last 9 years. 35+ employees and we are growing. Problem solving is the a primary attribute of a business owner, as to be quite honest, that is 80% of the job.
Guns - Although I am by no means an expert. I can shoot and have a fairly good knowledge of guns.

Not very much.
I've worked with live-stock before, and have had some experience in maintaining both small gardens and acres of plants. So I guess in aspects of farming and agriculture I've got some experience. (Mostly beans, but I also maintained things such as lettuce, various peppers, and so on.)

I'm a polymer chemist who is just a bit skeptic about this all working. I conducted research involving photovoltaics and allotropy during the course of my graduate work and now I've secured some lucrative patents that would make me a decent financial asset if this actually pans out.

Cooking - I'm pretty much an advanced level chef at this point.
Medicine- Novice skill, I know a bit about it but I'm no doctor.
That's pretty much it.

Im a computer programmer, and with all modesty, I know a fair bit about computers. I currently know/study/use in my line of work:
-C++
-C
-Java
-Learning python
I have some experience with:
-Mechanics
-Electronics
-Surviving in the wild (I.E. Medicinal plants/herbs, knowledge of how to start fires in dire situations, hunt and gather, and basically primal survival techniques. I went through a "prepper" phase where I spent all of my money and free time researching this stuff. Thank god thats over, but I gained some good knowledge at least)
