The United Nations, and it would damage our relations with Pitcairn, the only chance we have to getting the UK to tolerate us.

Thinking big is a good thing, thinking too big can become a burden. I know you goal is a federation, but you can't build a skyscraper on a bad foundation. If we ever start this in any way, we have to ensure that the home base is the best of the best, not some plot of land that seemed to be fitting. Don't get me wrong, all those islands are great starting point to some degree, but I'm still waiting for the gem to surface. One that sparks the will to move, the mind that states 'let's go!'. It may not come to be. Henderson Island is huge it's 38km2 no inhabitants and some native plants such as coconut on the beach and fish in the sea No fresh water, and unsuitable soil for cultivation

Right lads, screw Malden, no trees or freshwater. I have a better alternative. Caroline IslandOver twice as far from the main Kiribati islands as Malden, it has trees and vast lagoons. Across the pond is Flint, which can also be claimed. The Kiribati government has made a retarded suggestion that the island will be consumed by rising sea levels by 2025. Which is ludicrous as that would require a 6 metre sea level rise in just a decade, not gonna happen. This does mean however, that the Kiribati government may be less reluctant to give it up, same goes with Flint. It is 24 square kilometres in area and should take 10 days get there from Honolulu at 8 knots. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caroline_Island

Why leave from Hawaii when French Polynesia is close and has a large capital with a big port Papeete should be the main source of supplies, but we need to set sail from Hawaii to get weapons.

It's not a good idea to take Henderson, let's focus on the Caroline and Flint for now.

Flint and Caroline are inside a wildlife reserve and fishing exclusion zone. Also flint is surrounded by reefs making it very difficult to get ships close.

I know this, but it isn't protected by the United Nations, only by the Kiribati Government. Also consider Flint a bonus, the main objective is Caroline.

I propose colonizing Eli Malk island, an uninhabited island part of the Palau island chain of Micronesia. Eli Malk is a densely wooded island located in the middle of a reef. The climate is tropical, with temperatures ranging from 24*C to 34*C annually. Eli Malk is not currently under any environmental protections other then a commercials tuna, shark, and whale ban. There are currently no permanent settlements on this island. Positives: +uninhabited +withing a 1 day boat, canoe ride, or couple hour heli ride to international airport, hospital, US embassy, supply store +lots of natural trees for building +fertile soil +fair amount of rain, can be collected for fresh drinking water +lots of reef, good for fishing +reef surrounds the island, will protect from storm surge or tsunami +can visit the island under the guise of tourists. Can start settlement preparations without committing to live there full time Negatives: -Under the current jurisdiction of Palau. Would have to adhere to any rules or conditions applied to us until we get enough bartering power to do otherwise -Would have to maintain strong environmental protection standards as not to piss off locals or international community -Would have to convince the locals we're not going to fuck shit up. Strong diplomacy is a must -In the path of a typhoon and thunderstorm route (is a good thing for fresh water collection) -Close enough to populated centers that locals and tourists would occasionally pass by (good for trading, source of income) Eil Malk en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eil_MalkPalau en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PalauMap Coords www.google.com/maps/place/7%C2%B009'15.0%22N+134%C2%B021'45.0%22E/@7.1525221,134.3601284,3877m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x0
